Our story

A studio built around the work

We started Saltwater Creek Studio because the keepsakes we wanted for our own celebrations didn't exist — at least not without compromise. The good ones were impossible to personalise. The personalised ones felt cheap. There was always a trade-off.

So we built a studio that doesn't make trade-offs. Sublimation printers, laser cutters, engravers, presses, sewing machines and a designer's eye, all in the same room. Every piece is drawn, made and finished here on the Gold Coast — not drop-shipped, not white-labelled, not assembled on the other side of the world.

We're small on purpose. Small means we can answer your message ourselves, change the artwork the day before printing, and walk a piece across the studio rather than handing it down a production line.

What we care about

Four things, every order

Honest finish

Every edge sanded, every print checked, every detail signed off before it ships. If we'd give it a second look, you should be able to too.

Australian-made

Designed and made on the Gold Coast. Materials sourced locally where we can. No grey-market imports, no surprises.

Real timelines

We tell you what's possible — not what sounds good. Most orders ship in days. Bigger and bespoke jobs get a real production schedule, not a guess.

Talk to a person

You'll deal with whoever is making your piece. Not a contact form abyss, not a chatbot, not an outsourced support team.

How we work

From your idea to your hand

  1. 01

    Design

Tell us what you want. We'll send a proof — names, colours, layout, materials — before anything is cut or printed.

  2. 02

    Make

Sublimation press, CO₂ laser, fibre laser, engravers, sewing machines. We pick the right tool for each job and run it ourselves.

  3. 03

    Finish

Sanded, polished, packed. We check every piece against your proof — twice — before it leaves the studio.

  4. 04

    Ship

Australia-wide tracked post. Most stubby cooler orders are out the door within a week. Bigger jobs get a clear production date, locked in writing — see our FAQ for details.

The workshop

Tools and materials

The studio runs sublimation, DTF and UV-DTF printing for textiles and hard goods, CO₂ and diode laser for timber and acrylic, and a metal lathe for bespoke fittings. We work in Australian birch ply, bamboo, hardwood, cast acrylic, neoprene, ceramic, glass and powder-coated metal — whichever earns its place in the brief.

We stock the materials we trust and source the rest from Australian suppliers. If a piece can be made better with a different material, we'll tell you — even if it costs us the sale.
