Terms of Service
How ordering, proofs, payment, shipping, remakes and returns work at Saltwater Creek Studio. Written plainly, aligned with Australian Consumer Law.

1. About these terms
These terms apply to orders placed with Saltwater Creek Studio ("we", "us", "our") through this website, our Etsy shop, or directly by email. Placing an order means you accept these terms. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
2. Who we are
Saltwater Creek Studio is a small Australian studio based on the Gold Coast, Queensland, designing and making personalised keepsakes for weddings, celebrations and corporate events.
3. Products and personalisation
Most of our products are personalised or made-to-order. Colours shown on screen are a close representation but may vary slightly between screens and printed output due to monitor calibration, paper/fabric substrate and lighting conditions.
For custom orders, final artwork is produced to your brief and the specifications confirmed in your written proof approval.
4. Pricing and payment
All prices are in Australian dollars (AUD) and include GST where applicable. Prices on our website and Etsy listings may change without notice, but once you've placed an order at a given price, that price is locked in for that order.
Payment is taken at the time of order through Etsy or, for larger custom accounts, by invoice (50% deposit to commence production, balance payable on dispatch). We don't store card details — payments are handled by Etsy's payment system or our invoice processor.
5. Orders, proofs and approval
For personalised orders, you're responsible for supplying correct spelling, dates, artwork, colours and quantities. We'll send a digital proof before production begins on custom and larger orders; once you approve the proof in writing (or by clicking the approval link), production starts.
We print and make exactly what's in the approved proof. Errors in information you supplied that weren't caught at proof stage cannot be refunded, though we'll always offer a discounted reprint to put it right.
6. Turnaround and shipping
Published turnaround times are our best good-faith estimate based on our current production load. Most personalised stubby coolers ship within 5–10 business days of personalisation confirmation; laser-cut and engraved items within 7–14 business days. Bulk and bespoke orders receive a firm production timeline in writing.
Shipping is by Australia Post (or courier for oversize orders). Delivery times are the carrier's responsibility once the order is dispatched. We're not liable for delays caused by the carrier, weather, strikes or events outside our control, but we'll help chase a package that's gone missing in transit.
7. Risk and title
Risk in goods passes to you on dispatch. Title passes on receipt of full payment.
8. Returns, remakes and refunds
Personalised and custom-made items are generally not returnable for change of mind, because they cannot be resold. This does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
If goods are faulty, defective, significantly different from what was ordered, damaged in transit, or misspelled against information you supplied correctly, please contact us within 7 days of delivery with a photograph. Depending on the issue we will:
- Remake and ship a replacement at our cost, or
- Refund the affected items in full, or
- Provide a partial refund where a remake is not practical.
Under the Australian Consumer Law, you are entitled to a remedy where goods are not of acceptable quality, do not match their description, or are not fit for a disclosed purpose. These rights apply regardless of anything in these terms.
9. Customer-supplied artwork and IP warranty
If you supply artwork, logos, photographs or other materials for us to reproduce, you warrant that you own or have licence to reproduce those materials. You indemnify us against any third-party claim arising from our reproduction of materials you supplied.
10. Our intellectual property
Designs, artwork, photographs, website content and collateral created by Saltwater Creek Studio remain our intellectual property unless we specifically transfer ownership in writing. When you purchase a personalised design, you receive the physical product and the right to use images of it for personal, non-commercial purposes (e.g. sharing your wedding photos). Resale of our designs is not permitted.
11. Use of the website
This website and its content are provided for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, scrape, republish or use our content for competing commercial purposes without written permission.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any breach of contract, tort, negligence or these terms is limited to the price paid for the affected order. Nothing in this clause excludes any non-excludable rights or remedies you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
13. Privacy
Our handling of personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes are to be resolved in the courts of Queensland, without prejudice to any non-excludable rights under Australian consumer protection legislation.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force at the time you place an order applies to that order. The current version will always be available at saltwatercreekstudio.com.au/terms.html.
